TO reach tomales fire Dept, Dial 9-1-1 in an emergency
Whether calling from a mobile phone or landline, in an emergency do not call the Tomales Fire Department directly. Dial 9-1-1.
Firefighters might be out on another call, at a planned event, or in a training exercise. A call to 9-1-1 will reach Tomales Fire faster than calling their direct line.
EVACUATION PROTOCOLs
In the event of an evacuation, the Marin County Sheriff's Department will send an Evacuation Warning followed by an Evacuation Order via Nixle and/or AlertMarin. Be sure that you are signed up for both.
Tomales Village
TERN is committed to providing early warning as it comes to us and assisting first responders if directed to do so. But in an emergency, first responders are likely to be engaged elsewhere, in population centers.
As volunteer residents of the village, in an emergency, our first responsibility is to the safety of ourselves and our families. But as time and circumstances allow, we will do all we can to assist our friends and neighbors and help coordinate community response.
The more that individual households are prepared, the more resilient our entire community will be in the face of a disaster.
Tomales Fire Station Watch Room
In an emergency, under certain conditions, TERN members may be authorized to access the Tomales Fire Station’s “watch room” as a communication center. (We have ongoing access on Sunday mornings and for monthly West Marin-wide radio drills.)
The following protocol was developed to clarify when and how such emergency access would be authorized.
