Tomales Open Meeting: Public Safety Power ShutoffS (PSPS)

Preparing for Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) in Tomales
Last fall’s 5-day Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) coinciding with the nearby Kincade Fire put enormous pressure on Tomales residents and businesses alike. PG&E claims to be “improving our PSPS program by making events smaller in size, shorter in length and smarter for our customers.”
So far this year, we’ve been spared an extended PSPS outage. But with another month of high fire season still ahead of us, the threat remains on the horizon.
Join us for a discussion of how we’ll manage a PSPS this fall. Are you prepared for the possibility of another extended outage? What are your concerns?
We’ll also follow up on last month’s discussion of the Evacuation Protocol for Tomales (revisions in process) with clarifications and revisions. We’ll also briefly review where things stand with “neighborhood liaisons,” a vital part of TERN in need of wider participation.
Then we’ll walk through TERN’s plans for PSPS and discuss residents’ concerns and how we all can be prepared.
